As Smart Home Installers, here is how we are battling the pandemic
Like every other industry, smart home installers have been hit hard in this pandemic time. Especially because this is a service-oriented sector and smart home installers are required to work inside luxury homes and workplaces. But because of the lockdown and social distancing rules, the industry has experienced a major slowdown. As the United Kingdom is slowly opening itself up for business, now the question is how to grow the business while maintaining the health and safety of customers and field engineers?
Here is how AVITHA has been dealing with the issue of health and safety during this pandemic.
Health and safety come before everything
We have instructed all our field engineers and smart home installers to wear masks at all time and wash their hands every 20 minutes. Our employees have also received training about how to use hand sanitiser properly, it is important because hand sanitizers are highly flammable materials and they require attention. Our workers have also been instructed to clean their work shoes before they enter any work site. They have been trained to communicate with their fellow engineers and customers from a distance safe for both parties.
Regular testing
AVITHA has been testing all its employees and management team in regular intervals to make sure each of us is free from any infection. This is a core part of our strategy to keep our customers and employees safe.
IT security
During the peak of the pandemic, we only took on urgent house calls. If the problem could be fixed remotely, we followed AVITHAs’ strict IoT security guidelines to establish secure network connection between our clients smart home system and AVITHAs’ designated secure workstations. As a member of IoT security foundation, we take IT security very seriously.
Disinfect the work site after a job is completed
We instructed all our installers to disinfect places they touched/worked on using clean wipes and disinfection sprays.
Health and safety checklist
Each AVITHA field engineer carries a health and safety checklist with them when they attend a house call. This checklist needs to be followed and completed. This works as a reminder for our home automation engineers to carry out their health and safety checks.
Why AVITHA is so serious about health and safety?
We believe, even though the business is suffering a slow down because of this current pandemic, we should still work hard to win the trust of our clients by providing them with a high-quality service. They will see that we are trying our best to keep them safe while attending to their urgent need. This will help our smart home business grow in the long run. Because of our pro-activeness, we are getting excellent reviews from our clients, additionally; many of our clients are referring us to other people. So, our hard work has already beginning to pay off.
